Software Development Engineer in Test II

About the role

Join our Networks SQA team to ensure the reliability of Akamai's global platform by testing routing and switching hardware and software. We build automation infrastructure for qualification testing and collaborate with Networks Engineering teams to validate network topologies.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to system test plans to ensure highly effective test coverage & automation
• Create and deploy automated system tests to replicate real world scenarios
• Improve testing methodologies and procedures to enhance test automation efficiency
• Review product & system design requirements to verify accuracy of test plans and test cases

Requirements

• 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
• Experience in developing test automation in Python and Full Stack development
• Experience in managing and troubleshooting Juniper or Cisco routers and switches
• Hands-on experience with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
• Experience in IP network design and routing architectures

Qualifications

• Ability to solve critical software automation and verification problems in a multi-vendor routing and switching environment
• Expertise in Internet scale testing of routing protocols and their implementation
• Collaborate with Network Engineering and Network Architecture teams

Skills

• Python programming
• Full Stack development
• Juniper or Cisco routers and switches management
• BGP protocol experience
• IP network design and routing architectures

• Base salary range: $95,000 - $171,000/year
