Software Development Engineer in Test

Responsibilities

  • Build and enhance automation frameworks to support scalable and maintainable test coverage across platform and device functionality
  • Build and maintain automation into CI pipelines to support continuous quality validation
  • Devise improvements to current procedures and develop models of possible future configurations
  • Incorporate AI tools into the test pipeline to support shifting automation earlier in the development process.
  • Absorb technical challenges independently and define effective solution strategies with minimal direction
  • Identify gaps in existing workflows and implement iterative improvements to frameworks, standards, and testing practices
  • Work closely with developers and QA team members to integrate automation into the development lifecycle
  • Perform Code Reviews of Automation Engineers tests to ensure quality, reliability, and adherence to standards
  • Design and execute test strategies across functional, integration, API, and end-to-end testing

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in test automation development using JavaScript or TypeScript, including hands-on experience with Playwright
  • 3+ years of experience working with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, CircleCI) and version control systems (e.g., GitHub)
  • Experience with AI tools such as Claude Code and Cursor
  • Solid understanding of QA tool development chains and environments
  • Demonstrate expertise in black box and grey box testing methodologies, experience with standard QA and development tools, and the ability to operate within short release cycles
  • Superior communication and analytical skills, including strong ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems
  • Experience with Mobile automation with Appium
  • Experience with project and test management tools (e.g. Jira/Zephyr)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in manual testing
  • Experience mentoring test team members
  • Experience working in a cross-team environment (e.g. manual and automation testers)
  • Experience reporting progress and results to stakeholders
