About the role

Join Light & Wonder as an SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) and experience firsthand what it’s like to be a creator in the land-based gaming industry. You’ll develop and execute tests on new and existing products to ensure they meet functional, technical, and regulatory compliance standards while maintaining high product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision, identify test cases, develop, and execute test plans and test scripts for new and existing game themes and operating systems.
  • Follow requirements and directions provided by Senior Engineers or Managers.
  • Utilize required databases and tools for SQE functions and testing.
  • Gain an introduction to software test methodologies, procedures, and the overall product development lifecycle.
  • Assist in reproducing issues to help software development resolve them.

Requirements

  • Experience in deriving SQA plans and test cases from system requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience using Visual Studio.
  • Knowledge and experience with C and/or C++.
  • Knowledge and experience using Linux/Unix.
  • Understanding of software test methodologies and the product development lifecycle.
  • Automation experience is a plus.
  • Gaming industry experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science, or equivalent work experience.

Skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work and deliver in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Experience with real-time embedded systems and/or gaming is preferred.
  • Experience with JIRA is preferred.
  • Experience with Windows desktop applications is required.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies is preferred.
  • Results-oriented, risk-taking, and capable of extensive multitasking.

Physical Requirements

The role requires regular sitting, standing, walking, bending, and using hands to operate a computer. Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus while working with computer and business equipment.
