About the role
The Core Development team at FirsTech creates new solutions for customers using our payment processing platform. Software Development Engineers will interpret requirements from customers and product management, creating solutions within the existing FirsTech development frameworks. Engineers will leverage industry standards related to Agile development and Quality Assurance. This position reports to the Vice President, Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Use logical thinking and troubleshooting skills to identify short and long-term solutions to customer needs
- Demonstrate a desire and ability to learn new concepts quickly
- Research and experiment independently
- Take initiative and ownership
- Leverage abstract thinking and reasoning skills
- Apply good coding craftsmanship ideas such as SOLID design principles
- Take on a leadership role within a development team
- Act as a point-of-contact and subject matter expert on assigned application platforms
- Analyze and recommend architectural changes to new and existing application solutions
- Analyze and recommend improvements in overall processes and procedures affecting the development team
Requirements
- Knowledge of C# programming language
- Experience with .NET development frameworks (multiple versions)
- Experience with Microsoft SQL (multiple versions, both as a database hosting platform and a development tool)
- Experience with Microsoft Internet Information Services (multiple versions)
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio (multiple versions)
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud Services
- Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery/Deployment
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the technical concepts mentioned above
- Use empathy and patience when dealing with team members and customers
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with others within a diverse global team
- Stellar customer service skills
- Ability to treat others with respect and tact
- Ability to cope with deadlines and pressure situations gracefully
- Mentor junior Engineers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 4-6 years of previous experience required
- Advanced knowledge of and experience with coding concepts mentioned above
- Ability to deliver high-quality multi-tier application solutions
- Experience leading scrum teams, mentoring others, acting as customer point-of-contact, and serving as a technical subject matter expert
Pay
Base pay range: $106,000 - $150,000/year. Salary offered is based on factors including job duties, required qualifications, relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.
