Software Development Engineer II, Network Platform Development
About the role
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles to help deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.
As a Software Development Engineer, you will develop new platforms for AWS Networking, focusing on embedded routing platforms that enable one of the world's largest and most complex networks. You will work on innovative ways to build, automate, and scale our network, improving performance, reliability, control, and visibility for Amazon's global network.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement Linux-based solutions on embedded devices for networking products.
- Develop and innovate on data center networking to support AWS’s expanding infrastructure.
- Collaborate with teams across AWS to deliver high-impact networking solutions.
- Own and drive projects from conception to completion in an inclusive and innovative culture.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience for new and existing systems.
- 1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, or services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- 1+ years of Object-Oriented Design experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Pay
Base salary range: $143,700.00 - $194,400.00 USD annually (USA, WA, Seattle). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
