Work/Life Balance

The team values work-life balance. Most days, we are co-located in the Seattle office, but we are flexible for occasional remote work. We aim for core in-office hours from 10am to 4pm, with some team members working earlier or later.

On-Call Responsibility

This role involves on-call responsibilities, typically once every two months. We strive to avoid being paged in the middle of the night or on weekends, ensuring our systems are fault-tolerant. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause to prevent future occurrences.

Mentorship & Career Growth

We prioritize mentorship and career growth. We assign projects and tasks based on helping team members develop into better-rounded engineers and prepare them for more complex tasks in the future. Our senior engineers enjoy mentoring junior engineers and those from non-traditional backgrounds through one-on-one mentoring and thorough, kind code reviews.

Inclusive Team Culture

Amazon fosters an inclusive culture. We celebrate diversity and have ten employee-led affinity groups across 190 chapters worldwide. We offer innovative benefit offerings and host annual and ongoing learning experiences, such as CORE and AmazeCon conferences. Our leadership principles emphasize seeking diverse perspectives, learning and being curious, and earning trust.
