Key job responsibilities

  • Drive the design and development of highly reliable, scalable, and distributed systems
  • Deliver quality features on-time and execute against project plans and delivery commitments
  • Work with team members to manage day-to-day development activities, participate in designs, design review, code review, implementation, and operational excellence
  • Engage and work with customers and dependencies to ensure quality delivery
  • Mentor other engineers
  • Maintain current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology, always looking for new technologies and working with the team to bring them in
  • Launch products to India as well as world-wide marketplaces

About the team

Direct Fulfillment (DF), known in the industry as "dropship," is a fulfillment model that allows vendors to ship orders directly to the customer. The offer is branded as 'Ships and Sold by Amazon' and the customer service experience is the same as items sold from Amazon Fulfillment centers, such that the customer does not know the difference. DF was launched in India (IN) on October 2018. Our vision: "provide customers with widest possible retail selection while maintaining a superior experience for vendors and cost structure for Amazon."

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
