Software Development Engineer II, Building Connectivity Engineering
About the role
AWS Building Connectivity Engineering owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of the internal networks that Amazonians rely on to access their tools and achieve connectivity for internal uses within Data Center environments. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Responsibilities
- Develop software systems and successfully deliver them to customers, particularly related to automating away the operational overhead, datacenter deployment, and metrics needed to deploy and support large-scale networks.
- Leverage strong knowledge in data path optimization, data structures, algorithms, problem solving, and complexity analysis to implement software features and functionality.
- Use best practices to execute across the full development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, test automation, and operations.
- Communicate with other technical teams and management to collect requirements, describe software functionality, and build technical designs.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
Qualifications
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Basic Qualifications:

Pay
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
