Software Development Engineer II, AWS Managed Services
About the role
Join the AWS Managed Services (AMS) team and help increase enterprise adoption of AWS by providing an AWS infrastructure operations management service. AMS delivers automated outcomes for critical infrastructure operations, including provisioning, monitoring, auto remediation, patch, backup, compliance, security, and recovery. You will build intelligent software that automates infrastructure operations and provides recommendations to AWS users on cost optimization, performance, security, and fault tolerance. This role involves working with a variety of AWS services and collaborating with teams to understand how they integrate.
Working Model
- In Office: Employees are office-based with an assigned desk and must reside within a commutable distance of their assigned office.
- Hybrid: Employees must reside within a commutable distance of their assigned office but can work from home regularly, with a minimum of one day per week in the office. Agile seating is followed when in office.
- Virtual Workers: Employees must be based in the U.S. and aligned to an AWS office by time zone but are not required to attend the office regularly. May visit the office for critical trainings, meetings, or team-building events. Agile seating is followed when in office.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, or services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- 1+ years of Object-Oriented Design experience.
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Pay
Base salary range for this position: $143,700.00 - $194,400.00 USD annually (USA, WA, Seattle). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
