Software Development Engineer II - Amazon Robotics, Proteus AMR, Motion

About the role

You will be responsible for leading a technical team which is critical in providing profiling and optimization tools for the Neuron ML accelerators fleet. You will work closely with the hardware and software teams to ensure the right tools are available for performance profiling of large ML workloads, identifying bottlenecks and automatically providing improvement recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to the Neuron Core Tools team
• Work closely with the frameworks and compiler teams
• Collect requirements from various other teams including training, inference and runtime
• Collaborate with the compiler performance team to ensure timely release of the core performance tools
• Anticipate future needs based on the product roadmap and develop necessary tools to increase efficiency in large scale compute

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with C++ or TypeScript in production environments
• Experience with robotics frameworks such as ROS or ROS2
• Experience implementing autonomous navigation systems (motion planning, perception, SLAM), or task planning and action generation from machine learning models
• Experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, TensorRT, PyTorch) and integrating ML models into production systems
• Experience with embedded systems or real-time software development
