Software Development Engineer, Devices & Services Security

About the role

The Amazon Specialized Business Security (SBS) Core Proactive Security team designs and engineers security solutions to protect high-profile devices and consumer experiences including the best-selling Kindle family of products, offerings such as Amazon Photos and innovative devices like Amazon Echo, Fire tablets, Amazon Fire TV, Echo Show, Echo Spot. How will you help us build software tooling to secure customer experiences and data?

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze business and functional requirements, and translate business requirements into technical design specifications.
• Write high-quality, efficient, testable code and recommend improvements in development, maintenance, and system standards, and contribute to software documentation.
• Design, develop and deploy medium to large software solutions.
• Be responsible for technical problem solving, meeting product objectives, and developing best practices.
• Serve as an essential technical resource in the full development cycle.
• Analyze security data using analytics.
• Mentor junior team members technically.
• Work in an agile development environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Experience in agile software development methodology
