Software Development Engineer, Core Shopping

About the role

We're looking for a Software Development Engineer II to design and build the systems powering Amazon's next-generation Lists and Collaborative Shopping experiences. Our team is re-imagining how hundreds of millions of customers curate, discover, and connect through lists. We're applying generative AI to transform Wish Lists, shared lists, gifting, and collaborative shopping into intelligent, personalized experiences on top of Tier-1 systems serving billions of daily requests across every Amazon surface.

Responsibilities

• Work on services that power Lists and Collaborative Shopping experiences
• Dive into ambiguous customer problems
• Design distributed systems that scale
• Write production code
• Measure customer impact
• Work across our full stack (back end services, APIs, and integrations with Amazon's shopping ecosystem)
• Partner closely with applied scientists, product managers, and designers to ship features that customers use every day

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Qualifications

• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Skills

• Full software development life cycle experience (coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations)

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $143,700.00 - $194,400.00 annually.
