Responsibilities

• Develop large-scale, distributed in-memory databases with sub-millisecond latency
• Leverage open source technologies like Redis, Memcached, and Amazon proprietary technologies
• Work on data plane extremely fast and high throughput development
• Perform low level optimizations
• Implement asynchronous messaging
• Develop event-based technologies
• Design and implement real-time failure detection system
• Enable horizontal and vertical scaling
• Implement auto-remediation
• Ensure high availability and fault tolerance
• Implement storage technologies
• Develop disaster recovery solutions
• Develop significant portions of the product
• Serve as a mentor for other engineers in their areas of work

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Skills

• Exceptional technical expertise
• A sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science
• Practical experience building large-scale distributed systems
• Enjoy working on complex system software

• Strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners)

Pay

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
