About the role
The successful applicant will join ATR's Engineering Services Division as a software development engineer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center South Florida Ocean Measurement Facility (SFOMF), located near Fort Lauderdale, FL. You will work as part of a research, design, test, and evaluation team developing hardware systems to acquire surface and sub-surface ocean sensor data and fuse it into a coherent picture for monitoring the underwater ocean environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain software systems using engineering principles, focusing on high-level architecture, scalability, and performance.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers and domain experts to develop complex systems for data acquisition and sensor measurement.
- Produce technical reports, standard operating procedures, and presentations.
- Participate in developing project plans, test and analysis plans, and brief research progress and results to upper management and sponsors.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience with data acquisition software development of measurement systems.
- Experience with programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C++, and LabVIEW.
- Experience developing data acquisition and control software.
- Experience acquiring analog data from sensors.
- Working knowledge of National Instruments technology.
- US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (current successful background investigation completion is a plus).
Qualifications
- Experience with Navy or other DoD laboratories is a plus.
- Experience with oceanographic and/or underwater signatures data is a plus.
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary group environment.
- Minimal travel required.
Pay
$105,000 to $120,000 USD per year.
