About the Role
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for aspiring and motivated individuals who align with our Leadership Principles for our Software Development Apprenticeship Program. If accepted, apprentices will be provided on the job training leading to an opportunity to join as a Software Development Engineer with Amazon Web Services. As an apprentice, you will have a unique opportunity to combine technical and hands on training with our team as you develop your Software Development skills.
The 12 months on the job training consists of a combination of AWS internal training paired with shadow opportunities and industry recognized certifications. Clear benchmarks are set to justify compensation increases, conversions or termination.
This is a Department of Labor apprenticeship program. In order to be eligible you must be a military spouse or a veteran who has served in the US Armed Forces.

Basic Qualifications
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related STEM fields with a conferral date within the last 24 months or an expected conferral date of March 2026 - September 2026
- OR a graduate of Skillstorm, WA2VETS, or MSSA with a conferral date on or after 9/1/25 AND either holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related STEM field OR has 4+ years of relevant computer engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language such as Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript
- Experience with data structure implementation, basic algorithm development, and/or object-oriented design principles
- Experience from previous technical internship(s) or demonstrated project experience
Pay
Base salary range varies by location. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
