Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and develop agentic services and applications powered by large language models.
- Build expertise in online service architecture, API development, and distributed systems that power responsive agentic AI applications at scale.
- Develop service orchestration patterns, efficient agent frameworks, and real-time processing systems.
- Partner with engineers and scientists in a fast-paced environment to deliver exceptional user experiences.
- Contribute to technical roadmap, service reliability metrics, and optimizations focused on building intelligent agents that can effectively reason, plan, and execute complex tasks on behalf of users.
- Establish best practices that improve LLM application efficiency and enable new agentic AI features for Stores customers.
- Design and implement large-scale distributed agentic AI applications, partnering with technical and business leaders.
- Contribute to prioritization, estimation, and sprint planning activities.
About the team
The Amazon Shopping Team is improving shopping on Amazon using the conversational capabilities of large language models. We are working on an AI-first initiative to enhance search using large-scale foundation models, which are also used in downstream applications by various partner teams in Amazon Stores. Our goal is to build large language models (LLMs) that empower conversational applications and facilitate online shopping.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- 1+ years of Object-Oriented Design experience.
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- Knowledge of Machine Learning and LLM fundamentals, including transformer architecture, training/inference lifecycles, and optimization techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Prior experience working with Agentic Evaluations or Agentic Workflow Orchestration.
Pay
USA, CA, Palo Alto - $165,200.00 - $223,600.00 USD annually
USA, WA, Seattle - $143,700.00 - $194,400.00 USD annually
