About the role

As a Software Development Engineer, you will drive the development of next-generation communication features powered by advanced AI technologies, including Generative, Agentic, and Real-time AI. Collaborate with cross-functional teams—product management, design, and data science—to design and deliver innovative solutions that enable seamless, intelligent communication experiences. Lead the integration of these advanced AI systems into Alexa's core capabilities, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience.

Responsibilities

• Influence product and technology strategy by defining product features, refining system architecture, and spearheading Agentic AI and LLM best practices to enable a high-quality product.
• Build agentic APIs to deliver low-latency, low-cost, highly reliable, and scalable cloud services and device software solutions.
• Drive and lead software design, development standards, team processes, and code reviews.
• Optimize software libraries for low latency, CPU, and memory footprint.
• Deliver high-quality software in a dynamic, team-focused Agile/Scrum environment.
• Contribute to the professional development of colleagues, improving their technical knowledge and engineering practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Pay

Base salary range: $143,700 – $194,400 USD annually (Seattle, WA). Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and comprehensive benefits.
