Software Development Engineer, Agentic WorkSpaces

About the role

Amazon WorkSpaces is a managed desktop computing service in the cloud that allows customers to easily provision cloud-based desktops, enabling end-users to access the documents, applications, and resources they need with the device of their choice. We are reimagining what a workspace is, building Agentic WorkSpaces: a platform where the workspace itself is an active partner in how you work, not just infrastructure that delivers applications.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Q teams, and peer organizations to ensure the WorkSpaces agentic architecture leverages and contributes to shared AWS agentic infrastructure.
• Operational ownership of low-latency, high-availability services used by over one million WorkSpaces users globally.
• Ensure your team's services meet stringent SLAs across multiple production regions and OS variants, with autonomous troubleshooting and proactive issue resolution before customers are impacted.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications: 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience, 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience, 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience, 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl, Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience, Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $143,700.00 - $194,400.00 USD annually.
