Software Developer (.NET + AI/LLMs)
About the role
Aperia Solutions, a Texas-based fintech and managed consultancy firm, creates custom SaaS applications and software-based solutions for the payments, banking, and processing industry. Founded in 1999, Aperia offers business intelligence, risk management, compliance, and customer intelligence platforms. With offices in Dallas, Washington DC, and Vietnam, Aperia serves clients including banks, processors, payment facilitators, merchant service providers, independent sales organizations, and government entities.
This hands-on role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining modern, scalable, cloud-native applications that support high-volume transactional systems. The ideal candidate has a strong software engineering background, is passionate about writing clean, maintainable code, and has experience integrating security into the software development lifecycle using tools such as Fortify and Harness.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Business Analysts to clarify requirements from U.S.-based stakeholders, ensuring alignment with technical and business goals.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using .NET Core, C#, React, and Angular.
- Build scalable, secure, and high-performing RESTful APIs.
- Develop and optimize SQL Server databases, stored procedures, indexes, and queries.
- Create responsive and modern user interfaces using React and Angular.
- Utilize Visual Studio Code and Visual Studio to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews.
- Develop cloud-native services adhering to 12-Factor App principles.
- Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs using JSON over HTTPS for high-volume transactional systems.
- Optimize and tune database performance across relational (e.g., SQL Server) and non-relational (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) platforms.
- Perform unit testing, cross-testing, and debugging to deliver high-quality, production-ready code.
- Employ advanced CI/CD and DevSecOps practices, ensuring efficient and secure software delivery pipelines.
- Analyze and resolve complex technical issues in a high-pressure environment.
- Mentor junior developers and support team members in task completion and technical problem-solving.
- Conduct research and share knowledge on emerging technologies and best practices.

Requirements
- 4–6+ years of professional software development experience using C#/.NET Framework and .NET Core/.NET 6+.
- Strong proficiency using Visual Studio Code and Visual Studio for application development.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining RESTful APIs and enterprise web applications.
- Strong experience with SQL Server, including:
- Database design
- Stored procedures
- Query optimization
- Performance tuning
- Experience developing modern web applications using:
- React
- Angular
- HTML5
- CSS3
- JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as:
- Azure DevOps
- GitHub Actions
- Jenkins
- Harness
- Proficient in GitHub Copilot AI and other AI tools.
- Experience using Fortify or similar Static Application Security Testing (SAST) tools to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.
- Experience with Git, GitHub, and modern source control workflows.
- Understanding of secure software development practices (DevSecOps).
- Experience developing cloud-native applications following 12-Factor App principles.
- Solid knowledge of:
- Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
- Design Patterns
- SOLID Principles
- Algorithms and data structures
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.
- Must be willing to submit to a background investigation and drug test as part of the selection process.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with financial or banking systems.
- Experience with cloud migration and tools such as Azure or APIGEE.
- Proficiency in monitoring and logging tools, such as Splunk and Dynatrace.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
