Amentum is searching for a Software Developer to join our team in Arlington, VA, supporting a DoD Special Programs customer in developing a new application in AWS GovCloud. The mission is to modernize and sustain a secure, web-based platform that consolidates critical government workflows, enabling automated data management, role-based access control, and multi-level security capabilities in support of national security operations.
Schedule
- Work is typically performed Monday through Friday, 8-hour days onsite.
- Flexibility within a 2-week pay period to reach 80 hours.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and debug new software or enhancements to existing software.
- Work with technical staff to understand and resolve software problems.
- Address customer complaints about software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
- Apply expertise on multiple complex work assignments, including business applications, user requirements, performance, quality, interface, and security.
- Assist in the development of software user manuals.
- Responsible for desktop design, testing, security lockdown implementation, integration with standard software packages, and automated patching and deployment technologies.
- Document and train users, including automating application and configuration deployments and updates.
- Operate with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.
- Contribute to deliverables and performance metrics for complex infrastructure assignments.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience collectively with the following:
- Developing, testing, and deploying back-end software in Java, JavaScript, Go, Python, TypeScript, or .NET.
- Developing, testing, and deploying Java software using the latest versions of the Java Development Kit.
- Implementing and using backend frameworks such as Java Spring, Node.js, Go Gin, AngularJS, React, NextJS, NestJS, Google Web Toolkit, Hibernate, and Struts.
- Software development lifecycle processes, including Agile development.
- Software design patterns and antipatterns.
- Development tools (Git, integrated development environments, code quality tools, etc.).
- Working across multiple teams in an Agile development environment.
- Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance adjudicated in the last 5 years or designated Continuous Evaluation (CE), with the ability to obtain and maintain special accesses.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field. In absence of a degree, additional years of experience may be substituted.
- 5-8 years of relevant experience.
- Required certifications:
- AWS Solutions Architect – Associate (minimum); Professional preferred.
- AWS SysOps Administrator – Associate or AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional.
- Security+ CE.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting a DoD Authority to Operate (ATO) or FedRAMP authorization process.
- Familiarity with DISA STIG compliance requirements and implementation.
- Experience operating PostgreSQL on Amazon RDS, including patching coordination and backup/restore validation.
- Experience with Keycloak or equivalent OIDC/SAML identity provider integration in a GovCloud environment.
- AWS Security – Specialty certification.
- Experience with Git, GitLab, Terraform, Splunk, HashiCorp Vault, JIRA, Jenkins, and Ansible.
- Amazon Web Services GovCloud.
- Microsoft Windows Server and Linux.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
Pay
$130,000 – $145,000 per year.
