ForSaleByOwner.com, operated by Redfin, is a leading online platform dedicated to helping homeowners sell their properties without the need for traditional real estate agents. Our mission is to provide a seamless, user-friendly experience for sellers, enabling them to list, market, and sell their homes efficiently and effectively. We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

• Architect, code, and maintain high-quality software solutions.
• Develop new features and improve existing functionalities on our platform.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement product requirements.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Create and maintain clear, concise documentation for code, APIs, and systems.
• Support our active users by troubleshooting why a listing may not be appearing on the website and help to provide resolution.
• Identify and resolve bugs and issues in a timely manner.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
• Contribute to the improvement of our development processes and tools.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of professional experience in software development.
• Proven experience with at least one modern programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Go, PHP).
• Strong understanding of software development principles and practices.
• Familiarity with backend technologies (Node.js, Go, PHP).
• Experience or willing to learn with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL).
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Experience using AI code generation tools such as GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude Code, Cursor, or similar.

Pay

$118,800.00 - $145,200.00

Schedule

The role may include participation in an on-call rotation to support production systems and ensure service reliability. On-call responsibilities may include coverage during nights and weekends. If applicable, frequency and scheduling will be determined by team needs and communicated accordingly.
