Software Developer

Location: Huntsville, AL – Redstone Arsenal. Travel: Yes – 10% of the time. Clearance: Must possess an active Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required.

About the role

SAIC is seeking a Software Developer to support the Precision Fires team for CCDC Aviation and Missile Center, Systems Simulation, Software and Integration Directorate (S3I). The role involves full-life-cycle embedded software development for military systems in a collaborative, Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded software for military systems.
• Perform requirements analysis, design, coding, integration, test, documentation, and support.
• Participate in software team meetings, hardware and software design reviews, and technical interchange meetings.
• Collaborate with Cyber, Safety, Operations, and Test organizations to deliver high-quality software.
• Work in a team environment supporting both new and legacy embedded systems.
• Engage directly with the customer to receive timely feedback and ensure software meets immediate needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience; or an additional six (6) years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Active Secret security clearance (must be able to obtain if not already held).

Skills

• C/C++ and other object-oriented languages.
• Agile Development (Scrum) and Continuous Integration/Automation.
• Object-oriented programming and design, including unit testing.
• Microsoft Azure and DevOps.
• Git and SVN version control.
• Linux and MS Visual Studio.
