About the role
This position performs both systems analysis and design, and programming tasks in support of the Department of Transportation’s day-to-day operations. Responsibilities include using or adapting current systems analysis and design methodologies, documenting requirements, translating requirements into computer code, and training users.
Responsibilities
- Use or adapt current systems analysis and design methodologies from computer science
- Determine requirements for new or changes to existing systems
- Document requirements and translate them into computer code
- Write and test necessary programs
- Train users and assess user satisfaction with completed projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Design and Development, or a related field
- Additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in place of a related degree
Qualifications
- Level 2.1 - 2 years of experience in SQL, Oracle forms and databases, Java, .NET, JavaScript, HTML, XML, or a related field
- Level 2.2 - 3 years of experience in SQL, Oracle forms and databases, Java, .NET, JavaScript, HTML, XML, or a related field
- Level 2.3 - 4 years of experience in SQL, Oracle forms and databases, Java, .NET, JavaScript, HTML, XML, or a related field
- Level 3.1 - 6 years of experience in SQL, Oracle forms and databases, Java, .NET, JavaScript, HTML, XML, or a related field, including 2 years of project leadership and 2 years of system architecture
- Level 3.2 - 7 years of experience in SQL, Oracle forms and databases, Java, .NET, JavaScript, HTML, XML, or a related field, including 3 years of project leadership and 3 years of system architecture
Skills
- Knowledge of Java programming language
- Front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, or JavaScript
- Software development methodologies like Agile or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
- Writing unit tests, integration tests, automated testing, and debugging code

- Level 2.2 - $40.88/hr
- Level 2.3 - $42.60/hr
- Level 3.1 - $46.11/hr
