Gromelski and Associates, Inc. (GAI) seeks a dynamic Software Developer to join our team. We partner with prime contractors to deliver professional services in Engineering Design and Documentation, Software Development and Testing, System Integration, Testing and Evaluation, Lab Management and Field Installation, Integrated Logistics Support, Training Development and Delivery, Multimedia Support, and Technical System Support.
Job Description
We are seeking an energetic, forward-thinking computer programmer to support the architecture, development, and testing of a next-generation system. This system includes concepts such as secure High Availability (HA) cloud-based storage and orchestration solutions, advanced networking solutions, edge devices, and system management. The successful candidate will develop, implement, and test custom software programs. They should possess strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
Duties
- Technical engagements and presentations with technical leads
- Working with a small to medium-sized agile team
- Prototyping a web-based Linux system supporting various application footprints
- Rapid evaluation of technology viability to technical leads
- Some integration of software
Required Tasks
- Kubernetes Experience
- Linux experience (Red Hat preferred)
- Experience developing scripts using Bash
- Ansible Experience
- Experience in software development, integration, troubleshooting using C or C++, Java, or Python
- Proficient in functional or object-oriented programming
- Fast learner who can quickly pick up new technologies
- Experience with containerization/virtualization
Desirable Skills
- Python and Go Experience
- Experience with Kubernetes and/or general networking skills
- Basic experience with zero trust cyber principles
- Experience with Software Defined storage
- Basic understanding of Agile
- Full software life-cycle development
Additional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 3 years of related experience
- U.S. Citizenship required for DoD Secret level clearance
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work overtime and off shifts as needed
- Task-driven with the ability to work independently
- Experience working in an agile environment
- Team player who takes ownership and develops relationships with team members fostering team success
