About the role
We're looking for a motivated Junior Software Developer to join our Software Development team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who is passionate about writing clean code, contributing to open-source projects, and learning modern cloud technologies. You'll work alongside senior engineers on real-world projects, gaining hands-on experience across the full development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Write, test, and maintain clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features
- Contribute to and engage with open-source projects and communities
- Write and optimize SQL queries for data retrieval, reporting, and application logic
- Assist in deploying and maintaining applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback from senior team members
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues across the stack
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 2–3 years of professional or project-based software development experience
- Solid understanding of at least one programming language, such as:
- C++
- C# (.NET)
- Java
- Python
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- Willingness to learn additional languages/platforms as needed
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (writing queries, joins, basic optimization)
- Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience contributing to, or actively using, open-source projects (personal GitHub projects count!)
- Understanding of version control systems, particularly Git
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Experience with source code version control systems, including GitHub, for code management, collaboration, and change tracking
Skills
- Familiarity with additional languages/platforms such as C++, Go, Ruby, or PHP
- Exposure to Salesforce platform (Apex, SOQL, Lightning Components, or Salesforce administration)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of RESTful API design and integration
- Prior internship or co-op experience in a software engineering role
- Active contributions to public open-source repositories
