Software Developer

About the role

A Software Developer is needed to support Government activities at Hendon, VA. The role involves designing and building web pages using various graphics software applications, enhancing existing websites, and working closely with the customer to meet their requirements.

Responsibilities

• Designs and builds web pages using a variety of graphics software applications, techniques, and tools, including templates using Joomla and WordPress.
• Supports the development of Web-based applications, including online customer service for agency components.
• Builds websites from concept to completion, implementing client requirements and presenting innovative design layouts.
• Provides support in developing the site concept, interface design, and architecture of the website.
• Supports the implementation of interfaces to applications, performing HTML coding, ensuring 508 compliance, managing graphics, and updating content and analytics reports.
• Ensures that all documents are 508 compliant.
• Works within the Agile Scrum methodology to design and build web pages.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, or training, or related work experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of related experience.
• Experience designing and building web pages using a variety of graphics software applications, including templates using Joomla and WordPress.
• Experience providing support to develop Web-based applications from concept to completion, implementing customer requirements, and presenting innovative design layouts.
• Experience providing support in developing the site concept, interface design, and architecture of the web.
• Ability to work in a team environment using Agile Scrum methodology.
• Experience with HTML coding and 508 compliance.
