Responsibilities
- Participate in the design, development, testing, maintenance, and support of applications used across the corporation's subsidiaries.
- Work closely with senior engineers, business analysts, QA analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver quality software solutions.
- Develop, test, maintain, and support application features and enhancements using .NET, Angular, and SQL Server technologies.
- Gain an understanding of assigned business processes, system functionality, and application integrations.
- Participate in requirements discussions and provide input on technical solutions and implementation approaches.
- Aid in creating technical design documentation and development estimates.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, performance issues, and production support incidents.
- Collaborate with senior developers and team members to implement new functionality and system improvements.
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality and maintainability.
- Follow established development standards, design patterns, and coding best practices.
- Work with quality assurance teams to ensure features are tested and meet business requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to improve system usability, performance, and supportability.
- Support application deployments and environment management activities as needed.
- Work as a collaborative member of an Agile development team, interacting with business analysts, QA resources, and end users.
- Provide quality customer support by investigating and resolving user-reported issues.
- Participate in rotating on-call support for production systems, as required.
- Assist in training and supporting end users on application functionality.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and development practices relevant to the team's technology stack.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of software development experience.
- 2–4 years of experience developing applications using Microsoft technologies, including C#, .NET, and ASP.NET.
- 2–4 years of experience with web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, REST APIs, and web services.
- 2–4 years of experience working with relational databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and development best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, tools, and business processes quickly.
- Strong customer service mindset and commitment to delivering quality solutions.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while seeking guidance when needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Preferred qualifications include experience working on Agile/Scrum development teams, experience developing applications using Angular, experience with Entity Framework or other ORM technologies, experience building and consuming RESTful APIs, familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, or other source control systems, experience with Azure DevOps, Bamboo, Jira, Confluence, or other CI/CD and project management tools, knowledge of software design principles and object-oriented programming concepts, exposure to cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure, P&C Insurance industry experience or knowledge, exposure to domain-driven design (DDD), CQRS, or microservices architecture, and additional preferred qualifications include exposure to Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, Machine Learning, or Intelligent Automation technologies, experience integrating AI-powered services, APIs, or copilots into web applications, familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot Studio or similar technologies, interest in leveraging AI and automation to improve business processes, operational efficiency, and user experience.
