Software Developer
About the role
A Software Developer at AVEVA will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and debugging software applications. They will also provide technical support, document product behavior, and collaborate with team members on development efforts.
Responsibilities
- Recognize and articulate technical decisions and trade-offs
- Develop and test software applications
- Deliver software on time and provide accurate estimates
- Provide technical support, including direct customer support and escalated issues
- Document product behavior and implementation details
- Collaborate with team members on development approaches and priorities
- Expand working knowledge of technical domains
- Give feedback on pull requests, engineering designs, and features
- Act as a technical mentor for more junior developers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering; Computer Science; Math; Physics or a related field
- 3+ years of Software product or application development experience
- Experience with major programming languages such as C++, C#/.NET, JavaScript, etc.
- Familiarity with software design patterns, computer science fundamentals, and operating system internals
- Sharp debugging and problem-solving skills
- The ability to communicate complex ideas verbally and in writing
- An eagerness to learn and improve through feedback
- A self-motivated individual with strong time management skills
Qualification
A Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree or PhD in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering; Computer Science; Math; Physics or a related field, 3+ years of Software product or application development experience, Good experience with developing software in major programming languages such as: C++, C#/.NET, JavaScript, etc., Familiarity with software design patterns (object-oriented design), Computer Science fundamentals/principles and methodologies, as well as knowledge of operating system internals, Sharp debugging and problem-solving skills, The ability to clearly communicate complex ideas both verbally and in written form, An eagerness to accept and expand upon skills and knowledge based on feedback, Someone who seeks advice on how to approach and prioritize development efforts, A self-motivated person with a knack for time management

Schedule
Hybrid working at AVEVA. Most roles are based at a local AVEVA office, with an expectation of being on-site 50% of your working hours to support collaboration and connection. Some positions are fully office-based depending on the nature of the work, and certain roles that support specific customers or markets may be remote.
Pay
$92,300.00 - $153,900.00
