About The Role As a Software Developer within the Member Data Services Modernization team at USAA, you will play a pivotal role in building and modernizing critical data platforms that support member and customer information. This high-impact position involves designing and developing scalable, secure APIs and event-driven applications to enhance the digital experience and facilitate enterprise integration. Operating in a collaborative Agile environment, you will work closely with product managers, business stakeholders, and fellow engineers to deliver innovative solutions through iterative sprints. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.4+ years of professional software development experience using Java.3+ years of experience developing REST-based services with a strong emphasis on API development.Proficiency with building APIs using Spring Boot.Experience developing applications utilizing event-driven frameworks and messaging platforms such as Kafka.Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools like OpenShift, Docker, or Kubernetes.Experience working within Agile teams that follow sprint-based development cycles. Responsibilities Design, develop, code, and test complex technical solutions aligned with project requirements.Investigate and resolve complex application and system issues, including production problems, through troubleshooting and analysis.Conduct systems analysis to recommend improvements in operational policies and procedures.Prepare and implement complex system solutions by defining specifications, standards, and programming guidelines.Adhere to the software development lifecycle, ensuring quality and timely delivery of solutions.Participate in design reviews and contribute to the understanding of key system design principles.Mentor junior engineers and review code contributions from team members to ensure best practices.Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks associated with business activities in compliance with policies and procedures.
