About the role
The Software Dev Engineer III, AWS SageMaker Unified Studio, is responsible for conceiving, designing, and bringing innovative products and services to market. This role involves designing and building innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment, creating solutions for running predictions on distributed systems, and developing scalable, fault-tolerant, low-cost, and easy-to-manage systems.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
- Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
- Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.
- Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.
- Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
- Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.

SageMaker Unified Studio (SMUS) is a growing team excited to create a development experience for our Data Engineering and Data Analyst customers. We have a wide range of talented engineers on the team, and many diverse tasks that we work on day to day. We move quickly, are particularly collaborative, and know how to have a good time while doing it.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
