About the role
AWS Catalog solutions span Glue Data Catalog, Lake Formation, and DataZone, offering customers a comprehensive inventory of an organization's assets enriched through metadata, with data discovery, governance, trust, and query routing functionality. Catalogs act as the bridge between the consumption layer and data services, enabling engines to query information and allowing humans and AI to find semantic meaning in data. The suite of Catalog services makes it easy to set up a secure, centralized, curated, and secured data lake in days.

Responsibilities
- Translate functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design
- Code and test complex system components
- Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high development standards
- Work with other teams to deliver and operate large scale, distributed services in the cloud
- Own overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance
- Mentor other engineers, define the technical culture, and help build a fast-growing team
Basic qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Bachelor's degree
Preferred qualifications
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
Pay
USA, WA, Bellevue: $168,100.00 - $227,400.00 USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
