About the role

The Offers team at Amazon serves up the product and offering catalog containing billions of records, acting as the authority for product information and critical purchasing data such as availability and price. Our systems respond to trillions of requests per day from hundreds of internal clients powering Amazon.com websites, Kindle, and Amazon Alexa. We own software running in a distributed, high-performance, high-availability NoSQL data storage system with an inbuilt micro-service computing environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement distributed systems and web services at scale.
• Develop and maintain high-performance, low-latency micro-services handling millions of requests per second.
• Own software services end-to-end, ensuring they achieve their goals in operational reality.
• Collaborate with internal clients to define and implement features crucial to customer experience.
• Provide design consultations across Amazon to enable business use-cases at scale.
• Support resiliency and stability of core Amazon.com systems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
• Thorough understanding of Internet protocols and experience implementing services at scale.
• Customer-centric mindset with a focus on operational excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Pay

Base salary range: $143,700.00 – $194,400.00 USD annually (Seattle, WA). Your package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
