Join our Foundational Services team within Applied AI Solutions and help build the secure, reliable ecosystem of tools, services, and frameworks that powers AAIS's AI-driven business applications. We own critical foundational infrastructure spanning seven core pillars: Identity, Data and Knowledge, Foundational Agents, Evaluation, Onboarding, User Experience, and Data Analytics and Observability. Our platform abstracts complexity and eliminates undifferentiated heavy lifting, enabling AAIS builder teams to focus on differentiated innovation and reducing development time from months to days. This includes event-based data stores, machine learning training platforms, agent frameworks, identity management systems, and data access interfaces that enable responsible AI development while maintaining the highest standards of privacy, security, and compliance. As a Software Development Engineer II, you'll take ownership of production systems and developer-facing platforms that empower internal builder teams to rapidly develop AI-powered enterprise applications, rather than rebuilding common agentic infrastructure from scratch. You'll handle the complete data lifecycle, from ingestion through model training to customer opt-out controls. You'll maintain and refactor existing services for enhanced performance and scalability, while designing new foundational solutions to meet emerging requirements from application teams. Working alongside scientists and engineers, you'll enable them to build and improve AI agents and models, balancing innovation with compliance requirements. This role offers exciting opportunities to solve complex challenges around secure data storage, efficient querying at scale, and building self-service agentic platforms that empower development teams. You'll drive the evolution of established platforms to meet future needs, directly impacting how AWS delivers increasingly sophisticated AI-powered capabilities while ensuring customers maintain complete control over their data throughout every stage of processing.
