About the role
AWS Security is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design and build a large-scale next-generation Authentication Management System. This role involves collaborating with the leadership team to drive key engineering and business decisions that will influence the Amazon developer experience. You will contribute to the entire software development and deployment lifecycle, including design, implementation, documentation, deployment, and operations across multiple products.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement highly scalable and reliable authentication systems
- Collaborate with the leadership team to drive key engineering and business decisions
- Contribute to the entire software development and deployment lifecycle across multiple products
- Work closely with peers to build innovative solutions and high-impact outcomes
- Ensure systems are fault-tolerant and minimize on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Strong software engineering fundamentals including object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures, and advanced systems concepts
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-driven and able to deliver high results
- Enjoy working closely with peers in a talented engineering group
- On-call responsibilities, typically once every two months
Skills
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
