Software Design Engineer
Job Responsibilities
- Fine-tune and improve a variety of sophisticated software systems related to health monitoring and repair
- Gather and analyze requirements, document specifications, and develop software solutions to improve fleet health
- Document issues, identifying trends and learnings
- Improve AI tooling, including skills and context files for trouble shooting
- Provide detailed trouble shooting guides for onsite technicians as appropriate
- Schedule work windows and join calls to debug physical hardware issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
- 2-4 years experience required
- A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design
- Large systems software design and development experience
- Experience performing in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems
- Experience in programming and experience with problem diagnosis and resolution
Purpose of the Team
The purpose of this team is to support cloud gaming, allowing people to play Xbox games from any device.
Key Projects
The role will focus on server help: devices in the data centers playing the game – can sometimes burn out or break, and need someone to repair. Vendor will triage all incoming fault signals to make repairs as necessary. Identify the root cause for the issue and submit a ticket to resolve, work on resolving the issue, ticket management, escalation management.
Hard Skills Assessments
- Expected Dates that Hard Skills Assessments will be scheduled: The week of July 13th
- Hard Skills Assessment Process: The assessment process will include 1-2 rounds per person (30-45 minutes)
- Required Candidate Preparation: Candidates should be able to speak on prior experience and speak about coding experience, for the assessment
