Software/BI Developer

Core Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate ingestion and transformation pipelines into an analytical data lake
• Model data and define trustworthy, reusable metrics in a semantic layer; ensure every metric traces to the source of truth
• Develop and maintain full-stack data applications that serve metrics directly from the semantic layer
• Deliver executive- and operator-facing dashboards and reports including monthly/quarterly operational reviews
• Own the platform: containerized deployment (k3s/Helm), highly-available databases (PostgreSQL HA), CI/CD pipelines, release promotion, and post-deploy validation

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)

• Full stack development experience (modern JavaScript/TypeScript framework + a Python web framework)
• Strong SQL and Python skills for ELT/ETL pipeline development
• GitHub/GitLab experience
• Ci/Cd experience (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, etc.)
• BI/dashboarding experience (Tableau or similar tool)
• Data modeling/semantic-layer experience
• Relational database operations experience
• Data governance fundamentals: RBAC, SSO, PII handling, data cataloging, etc.

Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)

• Familiarity with AI/ML tools (Kiro, Claude, CoPilot, etc.) or agentic use cases
• Experience as a technical leader/owner of a production platform
• Semantic-layer specialization
• Workflow orchestration (Temporal, Airflow, etc.)

About the Role

This is an ongoing contract role, hybrid 4 days a week onsite in St. Louis, Missouri. This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $85,000 - $100,000 annually. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location.
