Position Overview
Amatriot is seeking a Software Automation Test Lead with an emphasis on API testing to support software development efforts for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). This role leads the testing team, develops and maintains automated testing solutions, and ensures software quality through manual and automated testing in an Agile environment.
This is a full-time position located in Fairfax, VA, requiring an active Secret or higher security clearance. The target salary range is $140,000 - $155,000, depending on education level, years of experience, and/or certifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Leadership: Manage a team of five or more testers, evaluate industry-standard testing tools, and establish test strategies to ensure features meet acceptance criteria.
- Test Automation and Execution: Create, maintain, and evaluate automated test scripts, develop and execute manual and automated test cases, manage test data, and create test reports.
- Quality Assurance: Gather and validate application functional, performance, and load requirements, identify and track defects, and validate defect fixes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers and Requirements Analysts to clarify requirements and improve test coverage, and participate in Agile ceremonies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or 15+ years of demonstrated experience.
- Experience: 15+ years of general experience, including 10+ years of specialized hands-on experience in automated testing, and experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Technical Experience: Experience with Windows Server 2012/2016 administration, commercial defect management systems, and automated testing IDEs such as IntelliJ.
Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in two to three object-oriented programming languages, with Java preferred and some Groovy experience.
- Experience using automated testing IDEs such as IntelliJ and API testing tools such as Katalon, Postman, SoapUI, or ReadyAPI.
- Basic understanding of program interfaces, services, databases, messaging, and file systems, and excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Clearance
Active Secret clearance is required, and the ability to successfully complete a government background investigation and maintain eligibility for a Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CI/CD tools, web UI automation frameworks, scripting languages, production RESTful interfaces, and source control management software.
- Working knowledge of various browsers and experience with mobile application testing and automation frameworks.
- Demonstrated commitment to self-learning and staying current with industry trends.
