About the role
The Lockheed Martin Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) team is seeking an experienced Software Architect to develop missile defense technology.
Responsibilities
- Develop a common vision across the NGI Agile teams, focusing on the delivery of an integrated set of products, tools, and software components supporting the SDS organizational goals.
- Work with other NGI leads, including the Software Integration Lead, Software Engineering Lead, Systems Engineering Lead, and NGI product teams to implement the common vision across the full organization.
- Ensure that NGI products follow appropriate processes and software development best practices, with emphasis on software reuse, DevSecOps processes, and automation throughout the engineering lifecycle.
- Define, document, and communicate software architecture and designs to engineering teams, and support their successful implementation.
- Resolve complex technical issues across the NGI teams and collaborate to seek agreement across teams with differing goals and objectives.
- Experience with Real-time software development is preferred.
- Experience with software development using Agile methodologies is preferred.
- Experience with Linux and real-time operating systems is preferred.
- Experience with Software and Systems Engineering best practices is preferred.
- Experience with DevSecOps processes and tools is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills are essential.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related Engineering/Technical Field.
- Experience with Object-Oriented Analysis (OOA) / Object-Oriented Design (OOD) techniques.
- Experience performing software architecture for engineering teams.
- Experience with C++ and Python programming.
Qualifications
- Experience with Real-time software development is preferred.
- Experience with software development using Agile methodologies is preferred.
- Experience with Linux and real-time operating systems is preferred.
- Experience with Software and Systems Engineering best practices is preferred.
- Experience with DevSecOps processes and tools is preferred.
