Software Applications Engineer
About the role
We are seeking a Software Applications Engineer with a passion for embedded systems who can thrive in a dynamic environment. This role involves developing, designing, and debugging embedded software solutions, working closely with a team to align with stakeholder requirements, and ensuring the successful integration of high-performance Battery Management Solutions (BMS) into the AUTOSAR Basic Software (BSW) layer.
Responsibilities
- Develop, design, and debug complex device drivers and integrate them into customer AUTOSAR systems.
- Collaborate with customers to define requirements for CDD development, ensuring they meet vehicle-level BMS needs.
- Integrate BMP devices into customer systems with the AUTOSAR BSW, using MCAL drivers, operating systems, and runtime environments.
- Verify CDDs to facilitate efficient and scalable system architectures for customer use cases.
- Lead technical issue analysis, root cause debugging, and performance optimization.
- Ensure compliance with ASPICE guidelines and ISO26262 functional safety standards to achieve customer ASIL goals.
- Partner with Systems and Marketing teams to deliver system solutions, software, collateral documentation, and tools showcasing silicon capability and driving design wins.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including software requirements, design specifications, and test reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in ECE, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of software experience, including embedded systems (MCU, MPU, ARM), computer architecture (cache, DMA, interconnect), and operating systems (basic communication peripherals like I2C, SPI, UART, CAN).
- Experience with Automotive System's software architecture and standard OSes, BSW, and middleware components (MCALs, AutoSAR, Linux).
- Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in ECE or Computer Science, experience with Linux, FreeRTOS, Code Composer Studio (CCS), proficiency in C, C++, and Python, and knowledge of functional safety, ASIL, and ASPICE.
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to interact with customers and stakeholders.
- Ability to establish strong relationships with key stakeholders and work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong time management skills to ensure timely project delivery.
