Software Application Developer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain web applications and services
• UI & API Engineering: Develop intuitive, responsive user interfaces and reliable backend APIs that scale across the platform.
• Collaboration & Delivery: Work closely with product owners, and platform engineers to deliver high-quality features and enhancements.
• Performance & Integration: Support performance optimization, troubleshooting, and integration with other platform components and services.
• Documentation & Tracking: Contribute to clear, maintainable documentation in Confluence and Jira to support ongoing development.
• Quality & Best Practices: Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience developing software applications or similar technical systems
• Strong proficiency in all of the following technologies: React, Java, JavaScript, Node.js, HTML, CSS, PostgreSQL / MySQL / MariaDB (in at least one of the three), Linux / Bash, AWS (EC2, S3, etc.)
• Background working with largescale or distributed systems
• Experience with Git based code repositories (GitLab, GitHub, or similar)
• Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, testing, and version control
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment

Desired Experience

• Exposure to data science, data engineering, or AI/ML workflows
• Experience with containerization or orchestration tools
• Familiarity with distributed databases and streaming tools (Hadoop, Spark, Yarn, Hive, Trino)
• Understanding of data access control models, including Role Based Access Control (RBAC) and Attribute Based Access Control (ABAC)
• Familiarity with Anaconda
• Familiarity with Ansible
