Software and Systems Engineer

About the Role

A Software & Systems Engineer responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining complex hardware/software solutions within a DoD environment, focusing on modern DevSecOps, Systems Engineering principles, and project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead prototyping, develop technical documentation, and oversee system architecture and integration across multiple platforms.
• Develop engineering artifacts, manage system testing, and ensure operational security compliance.
• Coordinate with vendors and stakeholders to deliver capabilities on time and within standards.

Requirements

• Advanced degree with extensive experience (minimum 12-14 years) in systems engineering, cybersecurity, and DoD environments.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and DoD IAT Level III certification (e.g., CISSP).
• Expertise in Linux (RHEL), virtualization, automation tools (Ansible, Satellite), networking, and secure protocols.
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python), system integration, and development tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical teams and brief senior personnel.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with lifecycle management, MBSE, cloud environments, and Agile frameworks.
• Knowledge of military testing procedures, electronic warfare, and modeling standards.
• Capability to support field exercises and travel as needed.
