Soft Goods Prototype Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Prototype engineering and creation, including process definition for small build quantities.
• Support lead Design Engineer (DE) in hands-on fabrication tasks.
• Prepare materials and assemble components for production line.
• Load and unload Work In Progress (WIP) from tools.
• Load and unload tools from machines.
• Operate specialized machinery that requires manual skills (e.g., sewing machine).
• Provide process and tooling improvement feedback to the Design Engineer (DE).

Requirements

• Designer or maker with prior hands-on fabrication experience.
• Knowledge of textiles, films, synthetics, leather, adhesives, etc.
• Team-oriented individual willing to contribute beyond defined responsibilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design preferred.
