About the role
Conducting assessments and formulating care plans.
Undertaking direct work with children and families.
Collaborating with partner agencies to coordinate services.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Responsibilities
- Utilising the Family Safeguarding Model to work in collaboration with other specialist workers including Domestic Abuse Practitioners, Recovery Workers and Mental Health Practitioners to offer group based interventions to families.
- Avoiding a strengths-based approach and applying motivational interviewing techniques to work with families to identify what changes need to be made in their daily life and support them to achieve these.
- Working directly with children to understand what's important to them.
- Having a holistic view of the individual across both their immediate and extended social circles, having full regard to their overall development needs.
- Accessing high quality reflective supervision within a multi-disciplinary forum to strengthen information sharing and decision making.
Requirements
- A recognised Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
- A genuine passion for working with children and families, with a focus on delivering high-quality care and support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues, service users, and external stakeholders.
- The ability to work autonomously, managing a varied workload and prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures within the social care sector.
Qualifications
A recognised Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
