Social Worker PRN Weekends
About the role
The Social Worker is an integral part of the Interdisciplinary team, responsible for the development and oversight of a plan of care for an assigned group of patients'/families' psychosocial, financial, and emotional needs. Provides coverage for the inpatient and/or outpatient Hospice program as needed. Liaises with community resources to support patients and families. Assists with mentoring interns and other students, and facilitates bereavement programs as needed. All care is delivered under the guidance of best standard practices, COL's policies and procedures, and the Arkansas Social Work licensure board.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee a plan of care addressing patients'/families' psychosocial, financial, and emotional needs.
- Provide coverage for inpatient and/or outpatient Hospice programs.
- Liaise with community resources to find support for patients and families.
- Mentor interns and other students.
- Facilitate bereavement programs as needed.
- Work outside normal office hours, including call coverage, to handle emergencies and meet patient/family needs.
Requirements
- Current Arkansas Social Work license without restriction.
- Emotionally mature, objective, and sensitive to people and their problems.
- Ability to handle responsibility, work independently, and maintain good working relationships with patients, families, and coworkers.
- Bilingual abilities a plus.
- Excellent computer, phone, reading, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to organize information, time, and workload to optimize efficiency.
- Good working knowledge of Social Work scope of practice and regulations.
- Satisfactory results of a current TB skin test, annual TB fit test, and annual flu vaccine.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of dynamics of death and dying, bereavement, and end-of-life issues preferred.
- Experience in a hospice or healthcare environment preferred.
Schedule
Flexible schedule to accommodate patient and organizational needs, including call coverage and emergencies outside normal office hours.
