Social Worker (Post-Adoption Specialist)

Duties

The Post Adoption Specialist will complete Adoption Subsidy tasks to include, but not limited to, processing non-recurring fees, replacement check requests, State adjustment requests, verification letters, and vendor requests. This position will additionally be responsible for maintenance and auditing needs of the Adoption subsidy records. This position will additionally aid Sr. Social Workers in some tasks and duties as needed.

• Complete Adoption Subsidy tasks such as processing non-recurring fees, replacement check requests, State adjustment requests, verification letters, and vendor requests.
• Maintain and audit Adoption subsidy records.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of social work or Master's degree in Counseling or four-year degree in a Human Service field or related curriculum including at least 15 semester hours in courses related to Social Work or Counseling and six months of Social Work or Counseling experience.
• Experience: Four-year degree and one year of experience in Counseling or in a related Human Service field which provides experience in techniques of counseling, casework, group work, or community organization.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking candidates are a plus.
• Valid driver's license required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Considerable knowledge of the program/area(s) of assignment.
• General knowledge of all agency and community programs and services which could affect the client/applicant.
• Good mathematical reasoning and computational skills.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret rules, regulations and procedures.
• Ability to communicate with clients/applicants, the public at large, and public officials to obtain data, and to explain and interpret rules, regulations and procedures.
• Ability to perform caseworker functions within structured time frames.
