Social Worker - (Part-Time) – Women & Children (Float)

About the Role

The Social Worker in this part-time, 4 days/week float position will provide coverage to social workers across various inpatient and outpatient Pediatric and OB service areas at The Mount Sinai Hospital. This role emphasizes total patient care, addressing physical, emotional, and social needs through collaboration with interprofessional teams. The position is 0.8 FTE (4 days), with working days per week to be determined (must include Fridays). Hours are 9am – 5pm.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychosocial support to children and families hospitalized or in ambulatory sub-specialty programs with acute and chronic illnesses.
• Ensure timely and safe discharges for patients.
• Cover OB-GYN Associates clinical practice, including ambulatory and inpatient services, such as planning for safe mother-baby discharge.
• Collaborate with a large interdisciplinary team of providers and social work colleagues in Women and Children’s Health.

Qualifications

• NYS LMSW or LCSW.
• Minimum one year of experience in a current social work position.
• Skills in rapid assessment, short-term interventions, and safe discharge planning.
• Knowledge of child development and issues affecting women and children.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work with diverse multidisciplinary providers and across various practice areas.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $88,691 - $101,670.78 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, education, and operational need. This range does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differentials, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
