Job Summary

This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza by optimizing the quality of life of all those served. The Social Worker MSW assesses psychological, social, cultural, and financial needs impacting high-risk patients' health and recovery, completes initial assessments and treatment plans, documents progress, participates in treatment team meetings, and assists with discharge planning.

Qualifications

  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: None
  • Education: Master Degree from an accredited university in Counseling, Social Work, MFT, Psychology, etc., required.
  • Experience: 3-5 years recent clinical experience in counseling in an acute care setting. 5-7 years of recent clinical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • Experience: Familiarity with individual, group, and family therapy, working with a variety of issues and populations, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, and experience with substance abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, etc.

Special Qualifications

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable of State and Joint Commission standards.
  • Able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work in high-stress environments.
  • Able to apply critical thinking and formulate diagnostic impressions based on review of systems, history, symptoms, and current presentation.
  • Able to provide crisis intervention and other duties as assigned by the department director or designee.
