Social Worker / Mental Health Specialist - Student Services (1433)

Purpose Statement: The School Social Worker/Mental Health Specialist provides direct and indirect mental health support and social work services to students experiencing social, emotional, and/or behavioral problems that interfere with their performance in school. Facilitates communication among school, home, and community providers.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral and emotional counseling to groups and individuals
• Deliver individual short-term therapy, student counseling, and crisis intervention services
• Perform student case management and family support services as needed
• Support school site Coordinated Care Teams by identifying and providing mental health interventions
• Train staff on behavioral and mental wellness
• Support families with complex needs
• Navigate student mental health referrals in the community

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling
• Copy of transcript
• Possess a current, valid license as one of the following:
  • Clinical Psychologist
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker
  • Licensed Marriage Family Child
  • AMFT, APCC, LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC
• TB Test (required upon job offer)
• Fingerprints/Livescan (required upon job offer)
• Proof of HS Graduation (or proof of college degree)
• Resume
• Letter of Introduction
• Up to 3 letters of recommendation
• Answers to supplemental questions

Qualifications

• Experience in a school setting is preferred
• Experience with Psychological Service Programs/Methods
• Experience collaborating with Community-based Organizations (CBOs) and other local agencies preferred
• Bilingual preferred

Schedule

• 2026 - 2027 School Year
• 8 hours per day / 5 days per week

Reports to: Executive Director of Student Services; supervised by the Coordinator of Wellness.
