Social Worker Long Term Substitute

About the role

We are seeking a New York State Certified Social Worker leave replacement for our elementary schools, to begin November 12, 2026 - March 1, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Provide mandated counseling services and individualized support as outlined in students' IEPs or 504 plans.
• Facilitate social skills groups, conflict resolution sessions, and restorative practices to promote positive peer interactions.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and related service providers to integrate social-emotional learning into the school environment.
• Build trusting, culturally responsive relationships with students and their families to strengthen home-school connections.
• Serve as a resource and support for school staff in understanding child development, behavioral concerns, and mental health.
• Participate in MTSS/RTI teams to contribute to data-driven decision-making and early intervention strategies.
• Provide crisis intervention and support during times of student or school-wide need.
• Maintain clear, professional communication with families, staff, and community agencies.
• Work flexibly across multiple buildings, demonstrating adaptability and strong organizational skills in managing a varied caseload.
• Foster an environment of inclusivity and belonging for all students, with a strong commitment to equity and support for a diverse population.

Qualifications

New York State Certified Social Worker.
