About the role
Portneuf Medical Center (PMC) is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's Level II Trauma Center and tertiary referral hospital. PMC is home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue. Facilities include a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, an adult intensive care unit, nationally recognized orthopedic services, a full suite of cardiac care, Center of Excellence recognized surgeons, imaging, primary and specialty care.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive mental health assessment services to trauma patients.
- Oversee and support other staff in Screening and Brief Intervention for alcohol misuse, acute stress disorder, and other mental health needs of trauma patients.
- Provide and utilize assessment and intervention strategies that promote improvement of mental health, psychosocial problems, efficient use of psychiatric and medical resources, and facilitate safe and appropriate treatment and discharge.
- Provide therapy or counseling services to individuals and families who have experienced traumatic events such as fires, accidents, homicides, or suicides.
- Coordinate with other members of the treatment team to ensure that clients receive appropriate care and disposition.
- Oversee screening and referral program for all trauma patients in accordance with American College of Surgeons standards.
- Assist with discharge planning as needed.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited program, or similar degree in a Behavioral Science such as Masters in Counseling or Masters in Psychology.
- Current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensure in the state of Idaho.
- Thorough knowledge of community resources for behavioral health.
